Porta-Grazer DIY Assembly Instructions
Tools Required:
Eye protection and gloves
Cutting tool that you can safely operate
Drill
1/4 inch drill bit
Screw Driver
A 7/16 wrench or small adjustable wrench
BARREL NOT INCLUDED

Its important that you select the 50-55 gallon blue barrel as shown in the photo.
Barrels may vary in size. The circumference size of the barrel where the DIY adapter will go should be 72 inches minimum to 72 1/2 inches maximum to avoid additional alternation
**Make sure your barrel is food grade**
Also make sure the barrel has not contained anything toxic that could harm you or your horse
Food grade plastic is usually marked with a symbol of a cup and fork and sometimes a triangle with a Resin Identification Code (RIC). HDPE is assigned the RIC #2.


Draw a line around the barrel where it measures 72 inches minimum to 72 1/2 inches maximum. Then, using a cutting tool you can safely operate, cut on the line and remove the upper section of the barrel.
Slip the DIY adapter onto the barrel
Using a 1/4 inch drill, drilL through the barrel using the pre-drilled holes in the DIY adapter for correct hole placement for the bolts.
Attach adapter using the 5 supplied 1/4 inch bolts, washers and nyloc nuts. Insert the bolts through the hole. Next place the washer on the bolt inside barrel, next apply the the nyloc nut to bolt and tighten.
Once completed be sure to wash out the inside of the barrel.
To put the pan in line up the keyhole with the handle and drop it in.
How to build your own Porta-Grazer from a blue 50-55 gallon food grade barrel.

Using the supplied measuring tape to measure the circumference of the barrel where it measures between 72 inches minimum and 72 1/2 inches maximum and draw a line around the barrel. From the bottom of the barrel it should be around 28-29 inches tall on the style of blue barrel shown in the pics. Not all barrels are the same.

Using a cutting tool you can safely operate, cut on the line and remove the upper section of the barrel.

Slip the Porta-Grazer DIY adapter onto the barrel opening.

Using the 1/4 in drill bit, drill through the barrel using the pre-drilled holes in the DIY adapter for correct hole placement for the bolts

Attach adapter using the 5 supplied 1/4 inch bolts, washers and nyloc nuts. Insert the bolt through the hole- next place the washer on the bolt inside barrel, next apply the the nyloc nut to bolt and tighten.

Thoroughly clean the inside of the barrel before using.

To insert the pan, line up the keyhole in the side of the pan with the handle and drop it in.
